This week was a shorter week subbing. Monday was a holiday so there was no school, and Friday we had extreme cold again so many schools were cancelled. This week I was only able to work 3 days unfortunately. I still had great experiences though, and was very happy. I was able to do a full day in a Special Education classroom and I really enjoyed that because it was something I had never done before.
This next week will be a short week for me, because I will be taking a few personal days. In the meantime, I still plan to focus on Love and Logic, Twitter, and being able to network. I think during Mid-Winter Break I will work on my brochure and creating a hard copy for my portfolio because I will not be able to work then and I will have no excuses not to get it done!

First Week Subbing
So this past week was a pretty good week! Last sunday I downloaded the Jobulator app for a free trial to try and book some sub jobs, and boy did it work! I was able to book 6 jobs just on the first day, which will be more than enough to pay for it when my trial runs out. If you are currently subbing and are not using this app, I highly recommend it!
Monday was all booking jobs for the rest of the week, and every other day I was subbing. I was able to get schools that were not too far from my house, so that worked out great. I worked in various grades, and each day was a different building. When I left each building at the end of the day, I made sure to leave the teacher I subbed for my business card, and leave my résumé and business card with the secretary to keep me in mind for future sub jobs. On Friday I also went around to several elementary schools around my house (there are a few) and left my card and résumé for them as well to keep me in mind. I hope it works out!
Tomorrow most schools don't have school, and my local district does not have school on Friday so unless I get jobs in different districts I might be looking at a short work week. Monday and Tuesday I have meetings in the morning with administration members at two different schools, so that I can find out more about the programs/curriculums that they offer. I am looking forward to these!
I did fairly well with my goals that I set out for this past week, although I did not do as much as I thought I would get done (I was not expecting to book up my whole week with jobs so fast!). So for this next week I am going to continue working on:

- Reading Love and Logic (which I am loving already!)
- Make my brochure
- Keep networking
- Get back into Twitter ( @meet_miss_b)
I was very happy with how this week went, hopefully I can continue to have more great weeks like this!

First Week Reflection!
Last week we were hit with a huge snowstorm, so unfortunately, I did not get very many opportunities to sub due to the shortened week. I did get one job though in an ESL classroom. I really enjoyed being able to work with students in small groups, this allowed me to make more personal connections with students. I would definitely do this again if it comes up!
My goals for this next week are:
My goals for this next week are:
- Book more sub jobs
- Make a brochure of my portfolio
- Start networking
- Start my Love and Logic book
- Obtain letters of recommendation to add to my applications
- Getting more involved with Twitter in edchats (@meet_miss_b)
I feel confident that I am on the right track towards my ultimate goal: getting my own classroom! Hopefully next week I will have more to share!
